    Jakart (SL)-Rencana pemerintah RI mengaktifkan dan memasifkan polisi siber pada tahun 2021, mendapat sambutan baik dari Serikat Media Siber Indonesia (SMSI) dalam rapat evaluasi karya jurnalistik akhir tahun 2020.

    Keputusan pemerintah untuk mengaktifkan polisi siber itu disampaikan Menteri Koordinator Bidang Politik, Hukum dan Keamanan (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD.

    “Serangan digital memang dilematis, tetapi kami sudah memutuskan ada polisi siber,” kata Mahfud seperti dikutip Kompas.id, Sabtu 26 Desember 2020.

    “Silakan saja diaktifkan polisi siber. Kami bekerja dilindungi undang-undang pers. Polisi siber sudah lama ada, silakan diaktifkan,” kata Ketua Dewan Pakar SMSI Pusat Hendry Ch Bangun, Minggu 27 Desember 2020 lalu dalam rapat evaluasi karya jurnalistik akhir tahun di Hotel Marbella, Anyer, Provinsi Banten.

    SMSI tidak khawatir dengan diaktifkannya polisi siber karena semua wartawan yang bekerja di media anggota SMSI sudah mentaati undang-undang dan kode etik jurnalistik. Sasaran polisi siber lebih pada media sosial yang mengumbar kata kebencian dan fitnah. Pers profesional tidak akan menyebarluaskan ujaran kebencian dan fitnah.

    “Evaluasi akhir tahun ini penting, karena dapat dijadikan acuan perbaikan-perbaikan pada tahun 2021,” tutur Ketua Bidang Pendidikan dan Pelatihan SMSI Pusat M. Nasir.

    Secara khusus rapat evaluasi menyoroti karya jurnalistik produksi media siber anggota SMSI yang berjumlah 1.224 media.

    Menurut penilaian Hendry Ch Bangun yang juga Direktur Utama Siberindo.co, kualitas karya jurnalistik media anggota SMSI cukup baik, pelanggaran kode etik bisa ditemukan dengan jumlah yang sangat kecil, antara satu-dua saja.

    Pelanggaran itu antara lain ada wartawan yang memihak dan kurang berimbang dalam pemberitaan seperti ketika meliput pemilihan kepala daerah beberapa waktu lalu.

    “Masih ada yang partisan. “Saya sudah ingatkan itu. Kedepan, tidak boleh begitu. Akan dipantau hal yang begini-begini ini,” kata Hendry.

    Dari sisi karya jurnalistik, masih ada yang belum standar, jumlahnya sekitar 5-10 persen. Dari sisi isi berita masih ditemukan berlebihan dalam jumlah untuk obyek berita yang sama sehingga terkesan beritanya itu-itu saja.

    Begitu pula dalam menyajikan aktualitas berita, masih ditemukan beberapa media yang belum mampu menangkap aktualitas yang sedang dimaui pembaca.

    Kekurangan ini akan menjadi perhatian dalam program pendidikan dan pelatihan tahun 2021.
